The Junior Forest Ranger Program exposes children and families to the ecology and cultural history of the Deschutes National Forest through hands-on-experiences with conservation and preservation of the environment being an underlying theme. Each program consists of an activity followed by a discussion and/or hike and concludes with awards for each new Junior Forest Ranger.
Please note that the Junior Forest Ranger Programming was created for ages 7-13. We have “Smokey’s Helpers” activities for younger siblings who might want to join, but will not provide badges until they are old enough to complete the program.
No registration required. For more information please contact karen.gentry@discovernw.org
