The 16th Annual Backcountry Film Festival is BACK with our first-ever virtual screening experience. This annual celebration of human-powered snow sports is one of our favorite parts of the year. Since we are unable to get together to hoot and holler at big powder moments like we usually do, this year we are offering a streaming experience from the comfort of your own home. The collection of award winning films will be available to watch beginning February 20th, and streaming through March 13th.
Proceeds from Discover Your Forest’s fundraising events go directly back to our Public Lands. Ticket purchases, raffle sales and donations help us reach our goal of ensuring every student in Central Oregon, regardless of ability or identity, has an opportunity to fall in love with their Public Lands. Help us to create the next generation of environmental stewards by celebrating the snow!
Support our efforts and enjoy the thrill of winter with one of our ticket options:
Extra raffle tickets are available at the time of ticket purchase, and provide much needed funds for Discover Your Forest! Raffle winners will be drawn on March 14th following the end of the screening period, and will promptly be announced via email.
For just $5, you can be entered to win amazing raffle prizes like a Three Night Stay at Suttle Lodge & Boathouse, an annual subscription to Cairn, Mammut Backcountry Probes, an annual Sisters Movie Club Membership for two, and more! Screening passes come with complimentary raffle tickets, and additional are available for purchase from the ticketing platform. Winners will be drawn on March 14th.
Whether you are a skier, snowboarder, snowshoer, climber or fatbiker, this year’s award-winning lineup will not disappoint. All films are 3-20 minutes and tell an authentic story of backcountry, human-powered recreation or environmental preservation.
Our virtual format this year makes it more convenient than ever to access the tour. Screening will be live from 7am on February 20th, through midnight on March 13th! Watch the video below for a quick demonstration on how to view the films once they are live.
