Join Discover Your Forest on the evening of Saturday, March 12th, 2022 for our annual winter fundraiser, the Backcountry Film Festival! This year’s theme is “Embrace the Brrr”, and that’s exactly what Central Oregon’s attendees will do. With our first ever outdoor screening, we will host our favorite film festival in the Embark Coworking Community lot in NW Bend. Here’s how it will go down:
Attendees will be allowed into the space to claim their spot beginning at 7pm. At that time, supporters will be able to grab some beverages and tacos if they’d like, set up their camp chairs and find a snuggly spot to watch the films. The screening will kick off at 7:30pm, and this year’s award-winning lineup will keep attendees enthralled until the very end! We have some awesome raffle prizes to give away during the event. Raffle tickets will be available for $5 each, and prizes will be received during intermission. ALL funds from this event go directly towards helping Discover Your Forest maintain free, outstanding hands on conservation education for thousands of Central Oregon’s youth, and will help us grow our reach to underserved communities by purchasing adaptive equipment and support to insure that all people, regardless of their ability or identity can experience the thrill of the outdoors.
Although we will not be mandating mask use, we encourage folks who feel more comfortable wearing one, to do so. There will be plenty of space to distance yourself from other groups, and we are asking everyone to be mindful and respectful of others while at the event.
With a limited amount of tickets available, interested parties should grab theirs now! If space allows, we will have a very limited amount of tickets available at the door as well. Let’s “Embrace The Brrr” together, and raise money for an incredible cause!
For just $5, you can be entered to win amazing raffle prizes like a stay at Suttle Lodge & Boathouse, backcountry gear, gift cards and free rentals from local outdoor retailers, and more! Purchase raffle tickets ahead of time or at the door. DYF members receive their first raffle ticket for FREE!
Whether you are a skier, snowboarder, snowshoer, climber or fatbiker, this year’s award-winning lineup will not disappoint. All films are 3-20 minutes and tell an authentic story of backcountry, human-powered recreation or environmental preservation.
